Rio medal delight for Mensan Adele
The success of Britain’s swimmers and divers at the Olympic Games in Rio has left one high-flying Mensan “a little numb”.
Adele Stach-Kevitz has been in Brazil as a board director of British Swimming, working with the performance director and athlete coaches for the diving squad.
She said: “Our swimming total of one gold and five silver medals is the best Great Britain have achieved in the pool since 1908 and our diving tally of one gold, one silver and one bronze is the best result in the history of British diving!
“We are deliriously happy, if a little numb by this success."
Adele has extra reason to celebrate as she is also chairman of the Taekwondo Organisation Limited – Team GB’s taekwondo squad returned from Rio with its best ever results, with one each of gold, silver and bronze medals.
She is pictured with members of Newham and Essex Beagles - the home club of Olympic stars Mo Farah and Christine Ohuruogu - where Adele is vice chairman and ladies captain.
