One activity that many of our members enjoy is puzzling! You can test yourself for fun with our brainteasers. 25/4/26 – There and Back​

A car travels from A to B.​

For the first third of the journey, it travelled at 30mph.​

For the rest of the journey, it travelled at 40mph.​

The return journey from B to A took exactly the same time.​

​If the car travelled at a constant speed for the whole of the return journey, how fast did it travel when returning?

Answer = 36 mph​

Assume the car travelled 90 miles​

30 miles at 30mph = 1 hour ​

60 miles at 40mph = 1.5 hours​

Return = 90 miles in 2.5 hours = 36mph​
