27/12/24 – Dog Show

44 dogs entered a local dog show and were placed in two categories – small and large.

There were 12 more small dogs than large dogs.

How many large dogs were there?

Ans = 16

If x = number of large dogs, then there are x + 12 small dogs. In total there are x + x + 12 = 44 dogs. 2x + 12 = 44 so x = 16.
