One activity that many of our members enjoy is puzzling! You can test yourself for fun with our brainteasers. Our quizzes and conundrums are updated regularly, so do check back on the page for the latest content, and if you get really good at them, why not find out what your IQ is by booking a Mensa Supervised IQ Test?

John and Karen were collecting conkers.

John said “Give me three conkers and I’ll have three times as many conkers as you”

After this was done Karen then said “Now give me four conkers and we shall have the same amount”

How many conkers did each start with?

Karen = 7, John = 9. Initially John has x conkers, Karen y.
After first exchange x + 3 = 3(y – 3) or x = 3y – 12
After second exchange x – 1 = y + 1
