More than 40 Mensans took part in the latest South West Science Day talk, findng out all about smart cities.
The talk, by Councillor Martin Fodor, took place virtually via Zoom and considered the advantages and disadvantages of smart cities and the rise of artificial intelligence.and the ‘Internet of Things’.
Councillor Fodor, who is part of the Green group on Bristol City Council, is – through the Local Government Association – a UK delegate to the Congress of Local and Regional Government at the Council of Europe, where he sits on the Governance Committee, contributing to work on e-government and e-democracy. He’s Rapporteur for a report on Smart Cities, preparing advice and case studies for the committee and the 47 member states.
After his talk Martin was available to answer questions from members.
