Are you super fit, sharp as a tack and ready to represent Mensa in the ultimate test of brain and body?
British Mensa is the new sponsor of the CGI UK Challenge intelligence prize – and we are thrilled that we have been able to negotiate a free place for one Mensan to add their brainpower to the exclusive invitational team!
The CGI UK Challenge is billed as the world’s leading team building event and attracts some of Britain’s biggest companies for three days of gruelling physical and mental exertion. This year’s event takes place from July 29 until August 1 in the stunning hills, valleys and water of the Lake District.
Entry usually costs in excess of £1,000 per person but the organisers are offering a Mensan place absolutely free except for travel to Lancaster and some spare socks. A full kit list will be supplied nearer the time but, apparently, spare socks are vital!
Whoever gets the place will also be encouraged to collect sponsorship in aid of the Invictus Games Foundation, the charity supported by the CGI UK Challenge.
We want you to show why you should be the person to represent Mensa. Firstly, you need to solve the puzzles below, then you will need to convince the selectors that you are fit enough for three days of running, walking, climbing and swimming in the Lake District – and that you have the mental agility to problem-solve yourself and your team out of the many dead ends and wrong turns you’re likely to face.

The challenge is designed to cater for all abilities and physiques and is open to all members over the age of 18. It is suggested that team members should be capable of comfortably covering a distance of 10km on foot and/or 15km by bike. There will be water-based activity such as canoeing, and participants should be comfortable in open (cold) water.
You must be available from July 29 to August 1 inclusive and able to get yourself to and from Lancaster.
The selected Mensa member will join an invitational team put together by the organisers Marco Polo Events. While we can’t promise who you will be competing alongside, those who have joined the invitational team in the past include Olympic swimming champion Rebecca Adlington!
Alongside teams from blue chip companies like Airbus, PWC, Adidas and the armed forces, this year’s event will also include a Team of Heroes made up of NHS and emergency services personnel.
