Two members of British Mensa have each been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Mensa Foundation to support their academic and career goals.
One of three Mensa International Scholarships was awarded to Jackson Tsz Shun Cheung, who is currently studying medicine at University College London and aspires to be a world-class neurosurgeon and scientist. While Creagh Factor, who will be entering Standford University this year to study computer science and public policy, was awarded the Ed Vincent Scholarship.
Mensa Foundation scholarships are awarded on the basis of an essay that describes the applicant’s career, vocational, and/or academic goals along with information that shows how the applicant intends to achieve the stated goal. This year, more than 12,000 applicants competed for 198 scholarship awards at the local, regional, and national levels for a combined value of more than $219,000.
Many congratulations to Jackson and Creagh.
