British Mensa opts for oomi as new membership technology partner

Following a formal procurement process, British Mensa has signed a contract with oomi(™) to act as their membership technology partner.

They sought to replace their current membership management system and CMS, in order to meet the future needs of the organisation, which is transforming itself to ensure that it remains successful in the 21st century, with membership growth, improved engagement, a modernised brand and a stronger voice.

oomi is a fully integrated engagement management system for the membership and not for profit sector combining CRM, website, collaboration, engagement and social media. With over 30 years’ experience in the sector, oomi’s customers include professional membership bodies, trade associations and other not-for-profit and charitable organisations.  These include the Nautical Institute, The Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow, the British Parking Association, and the Healthcare Protection Society.

“We are delighted to be starting our journey as an oomi customer and are very much looking forward to working with the team.”, remarks Cath Hill, Mensa’s Chief Executive.  “We selected oomi because we liked what we saw in the CRM software and we felt there was good chemistry between the Mensa and oomi teams This was backed up with excellent references from existing clients about their experience of working with oomi.”

Mensa will be making use of the core oomi CRM and membership management modules, along with modules to manage events, their IQ test programme, finance with SAGE50 integration, committees, and product sales. It will also use the oomi online communities platform to increase engagement between volunteers and members, particularly for Mensa’s vitally important Special Interest Groups and Regions, which deliver activities and events for Mensa members.

“oomi provides us the flexibility of using WordPress as our website content management system (CMS) and we look forward to working with their team on the website design,” continues Hill. “Their collaborative approach, and responsiveness to our needs, has impressed us.”

Joel Trotman, Sales Director at oomi, comments: “We’re proud to welcome Mensa into the ever-growing number of membership organisations who trust us to support their membership services. It is especially pleasing to see our strengths in digital design and online community engagement being recognised and valued.”
