Patrick’s interpretation of musical role

French musical interpreter Patrick Hemmerlé, who is based in Cambridge, has done an exclusive talk for British Mensa about the role of an interpreter and their relationship with the composer.

He considers his job to be part artist, part artisan, and says the role of an actor in interpreting the intentions of a playwright is the nearest comparison he can draw.
